Donnachiara is a family-run, female-led winery founded in 2005 in Montefalcione, at the heart of Irpinia, Campania. Now guided by Ilaria Petitto, the fourth generation, it focuses on native Irpinian varieties including Fiano, Greco and Aglianico, from vineyards in Montefalcione, Tufo and Lapio at 400–600 metres on clay and tuff soils. The vineyards are managed organically, with manual harvesting, careful resource use, solar energy and respect for the soil and fruit. Tradition is combined with modern technology, art and design: wines ferment in steel and mature in oak, expressing the territory’s mineral character. Donnachiara also offers guided tours and tastings, presenting Irpinian wine through an authentic hospitality experience.
