Australia

Poppelvej is a boutique wine label based in Whites Valley, McLaren Vale, South Australia, founded by Danish winemaker Uffe and run with his wife Nicole. After experience in Copenhagen, Sonoma and Yalumba, Uffe and Nicole settled in McLaren Vale in 2016 to start the brand, with the first vintage made from Grenache and sold in Denmark. Poppelvej sources fruit from sustainable vineyards in McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills, with a winemaking approach centred on natural fermentation, no additives, and minimal to no sulphur. The project also works collaboratively through the Under The Sun collective with Golden Child and Brash Higgins.
