Spain

Azimut is the family-owned wine project of the Suriol family in Penedès, Catalonia, led by owner-winemaker Assís Suriol. Rooted in the family’s long viticultural tradition, it focuses on organic and biodynamic farming, with CCPAE organic certification dating to 1996. The project also works with neighboring organic growers, emphasizing fair prices for growers and respect for the territory. In the winery, Azimut follows a minimal-intervention approach with spontaneous fermentations, limited sulfur, and no fining or filtration. The wines are made from traditional Catalan varieties and are typically fresh, youthful, fruit-driven and easy-drinking, reflecting Mediterranean character, ecological farming, and a blend of tradition with modern energy.
