Escudo Rojo is the Chilean flagship of Baron Philippe de Rothschild, established in 1999 as a Franco-Chilean venture in Buin-Maipo, at the heart of the Maipo Valley. The estate combines Chilean terroir with French winemaking expertise under oenologist Emmanuel Riffaud, using detailed parcel and micro-terroir selection, careful monitoring of ripening, hand harvesting and tailored extraction to produce concentrated yet elegant wines. Its wines are made, aged, bottled and packaged on-site, drawing on vineyards across Chile’s Central Valley and selected grower fruit. The estate is certified Sustainable Wine of Chile, GLOBAL G.A.P. and HACCP, and has introduced composting, biological disease control, water-efficiency measures and solar power at its Maipo winery.
