Bodegas Lonia

Family-owned Bodegas Lonia was founded in 1983 in Subirats, in Catalonia’s Penedès region near Barcelona. The bodega is known for pioneering the cultivation of Burgundy and Alsatian varieties—including Chardonnay, Muscat, Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Gewürztraminer—alongside traditional Penedès grapes such as Parellada, Macabeo and Xarel·lo. Its vineyards lie on chalky soils with some gravel. Winemaking emphasizes low-temperature maceration, stainless-steel fermentation at 16°C and approximately 14 months of aging in stacks, producing quality-focused, boutique-scale wines.
