Halter Ranch is a Paso Robles estate in California’s Adelaida AVA, founded in 2000 and owned by Swiss philanthropist and conservationist Hansjörg Wyss. Its 2,700-acre nature estate includes organically farmed vineyards on steep, limestone-rich slopes, with 90% of the property preserved as natural landscape. The estate is CCOF Organic, Certified Sustainable, and Regenerative Organic Certified®, reflecting a focus on soil health, biodiversity, conservation, and farming without harmful chemicals. Wines are made from 100% organically grown grapes and focus on Bordeaux- and Rhône-style expressions, including the flagship Ancestor and CDP blends, shaped by the estate’s distinctive terroir. Halter Ranch also produces limited Texas wines from certified organic partner vineyards and operates tasting rooms in Paso Robles, Temecula, and Fredericksburg.
