Château La Gurgue

France

Château La Gurgue is a small Margaux estate in Bordeaux, acquired by Jacques Merlaut in 1978 and now owned by Claire Villars-Lurton as part of the G&C Lurton group. Its vineyards have been farmed organically since 2016 and biodynamically, with Demeter and Biodyvin certification, since 2018. Mainly planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the vines are harvested by hand. Vinification takes place in the shared cellar of Château Ferrière, followed by 12 months of aging in French oak. The wines are made under the direction of oenologist Eric Boissenot.
