Casa Setaro is a family-run winery in Trecase, on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius in Campania’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Vincenzo, Massimo and Maria Rosaria Setaro cultivate ungrafted native Vesuvian varieties—including Aglianico, Piedirosso, Caprettone and Falanghina—by hand across volcanic soils of lapilli, effusive rock, sand and minerals. The vineyards are farmed organically, without herbicides or chemical fertilizers, with a strong focus on biodiversity and environmental protection. Massimo Setaro leads the winemaking, producing still, rosé and traditional-method sparkling wines that express the distinct volcanic terroirs and varietal identities of the area. The cellar, built beneath the family home within volcanic rock, combines inherited traditions with modern winemaking technology.
