Domaine des Huards

France

Domaine des Huards is a family-run estate in Cour-Cheverny in the Loire Valley, in the hands of the Gendrier family since 1846 and now overseen by Alexandre Gendrier. The domaine is closely tied to the rare Romorantin grape, which the family has been vinifying since 1922 for Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny wines. All wines are made exclusively from estate-grown fruit. Farming is organic and biodynamic, with no synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and the estate has practiced biodynamics since 1998, focusing on soil life, biodiversity, and work guided by biodynamic preparations and calendar rhythms. The domaine also participates in Renaissance des Appellations.
