Etienne Becheras

France

Etienne Becheras is a family-owned, very small-scale estate in the Northern Rhône, with vineyards in Saint-Joseph and Mercurol. The broader polycultural farm also includes fruit orchards and forest. Its vineyards are organically farmed on steep limestone-gravel slopes, with hand-built stone terraces and all work carried out manually without mechanical equipment. Winemaking follows natural methods, including cold maceration, spontaneous fermentation and oak aging, with no fining or filtration. Production is limited, particularly for the whites, alongside a modest amount of red wine. The estate’s wines reflect a hands-on, low-intervention approach rooted in careful farming and traditional cellar work.
