Tappero Merlo is a Canavese producer focused on Erbaluce, with vineyards on the poor, mineral-rich soils of the Ivrea Morainic Amphitheatre in Parella, Colleretto Giacosa, Loranzè and Piverone. Its approximately three hectares are managed with highly natural, low-impact practices, including natural products, green manure, self-produced compost and sexual confusion; Vigna del Belvedere is cultivated without systemic products, fertilizers, pesticides or insecticides and is moving toward organic certification. The estate emphasizes white wines designed for aging and expressive of the glacially formed territory. In addition to vineyard visits and tastings at Vigna del Belvedere, Tappero Merlo is connected with Spazio [Bianco], a wine hotel and cultural project in Ivrea dedicated to local art, history, nature, food and craftsmanship.
