Italy

Ettore Germano is a family-owned winery in Serralunga d’Alba, Piedmont, led by fourth-generation Sergio Germano and his wife Elena. Based between Barolo and Alta Langa, the estate produces Barolo, including the single-vineyard Lazzarito Riserva, as well as Langhe Nebbiolo, Dolcetto d’Alba, and Alta Langa Extra Brut from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Riesling. Farming is described as sustainable. In the cellar, the approach balances modern stainless-steel equipment with short fermentations in open wooden vats and restrained aging in small French oak, aiming for terroir expression, clarity, and minimal oak influence. The winery is also noted for a leadership role in the Barolo consortium.
