Cave Cluzel

France

Cave Cluzel is a family-owned domaine in Chavanay, in the northern Rhône Valley, run by brothers Vincent and Alexandre Cluzel, who are also the winemakers. First vinified in 2013, the estate works vineyards across several nearby communes, including sites in Saint-Joseph, Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie, with all wines made from estate-grown fruit. The steep slopes mean much of the vineyard work is done by hand, including hand-harvesting. Notes also mention leaf removal, green harvesting, limited treatments according to weather, minimal use of oenological additives and fermentations with indigenous yeasts. The range includes both whites and reds from Rhône appellations and IGP Collines Rhodaniennes.
