David & Nadia

South Africa

David & Nadia is a family-run Swartland producer in South Africa’s Western Cape, founded in 2010 by winemaker David Sadie and viticulture manager Nadia Sadie. Working mainly from leased old-vine parcels, they focus on terroir-driven sites across weathered granite, iron-rich schist, and clay soils, with many vineyards certified by the Old Vine Project and carrying the Certified Heritage Vineyards seal. Farming is biological, with no herbicides, cover crops, and ongoing conversion to full organic certification. In the cellar, the approach is low-intervention, with spontaneous fermentations, whole-bunch pressing, restrained sulphur use, and aging in old oak, concrete, or foudre. The wines center on old-vine Chenin Blanc and Pinotage with a clear sense of site.
