Château Penin

France

Château Penin is a family-owned estate in Gironde, with roots dating to 1854 and now managed by Patrick Penin, the fifth generation, alongside the next generation, Antoine and Etienne. Its 15-hectare vineyard produces red, white, rosé and clairet wines. The estate holds France’s HEV environmental certification and practices sustainable viticulture, including agroforestry, cover crops, gentle pruning and massal selection. The family’s approach emphasizes authenticity, engaged but non-dogmatic farming, and wines expressing the identity of clay-limestone and gravel terroirs. They believe wine is made in the vineyard and aim for balanced, convivial wines offering immediate pleasure and a sense of place.
