Carlone Boca

Italy

Carlone Boca is a small family-run estate in Boca, Alto Piemonte, led by Davide Carlone, whose family roots in the area date back to the 19th century. Based around Grignasco and the Colline Novaresi, the estate has been part of the revival of Boca, with Carlone also collaborating with neighboring growers. Vineyards lie within the UNESCO-listed Sesia Val Grande Geopark on porphyry-rich volcanic soils from an ancient supervolcano, giving the wines a marked mineral and balsamic character. Farming follows organic and biodynamic principles without formal certification, with cover crops, composting, recycling, water conservation, and herbicides banned. Carlone keeps part of the fruit for his own natural wines, while consultant Emiliano Falsini supports the winemaking.
