Cantina Horus is a family-owned winery in Acate, in Sicily’s Ragusa area, built on the Giudice family’s agricultural experience dating back to 1974. The estate focuses on indigenous Sicilian grapes including Nero d’Avola, Frappato, Grillo, Insolia and Moscato. Its vineyards, on sandy and calcareous soils, are farmed according to certified organic principles, with chemical-free viticulture, organic fertilizers and biological pest control, including the traditional use of roses to monitor vine health. Horus emphasizes sustainability and long-term environmental balance, aiming to produce authentic wines that reflect the vineyard’s soil, climate and local farming culture.
