Weingut Alzinger

Austria

Alzinger is a family-owned estate in Austria’s Wachau, in Niederösterreich, run by Leo Alzinger Jr. with Katarina Alzinger after Leo Jr. took over from his father in 2002. The estate is centered on prized vineyards in Unterloiben, especially Loibenberg, Steinertal and Liebenberg, where Riesling is planted on higher, rocky parcels and Grüner Veltliner on lower loess-based sites. The winery focuses on estate-grown wines that emphasize purity, minerality and site expression, with a shift toward earlier-harvest, lighter styles with lower alcohol and minimal extraction. No organic, biodynamic or other sustainability certifications are mentioned in the available sources.
