âmevive is a Santa Barbara County winery centered on holistic farming and minimal-intervention winemaking. It leases and farms the historic Ibarra-Young Vineyard in Los Olivos District AVA, one of the early plantings in the Santa Ynez Valley, first planted in 1971 by Charlotte Young and still owned by her three daughters. Farmed organically since 1993, the site is managed with regenerative organic and biodynamic practices, including no-till farming, rotational grazing, native understory planting, and reduced sprays, tractor passes, water use, and carbon emissions. The own-rooted vineyard includes older Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Marsanne plantings, along with later Tempranillo and Graciano, and is home to mature valley oaks that are part of its ecosystem. In the cellar, âmevive favors native yeast fermentations, minimal effective sulfites, and wines bottled unfined and unfiltered.
