Kopke, founded in 1638, is the world's oldest Port house, located in Portugal's Douro Valley. It specializes in aged tawny and single-harvest Colheita ports, often bottled directly from the cask after extended oak ageing. The estate's vineyards, including those at Quinta de São Luiz, feature old vines on schist-sandstone soils managed with traditional viticultural practices. The house combines historic winemaking methods with modern quality controls.
