Borell Diehl

Germany

Borell-Diehl is a family-owned estate in Hainfeld, Pfalz, founded in 1990 by Annette Borell and Thomas Diehl and now overseen by their son George. Its vineyards are farmed without systemic pesticides, herbicides or irrigation, with strict crop thinning and hand-harvesting; the wines are described as organic and sustainably produced and have been vegan-certified since 2018. The estate emphasizes matching each grape variety to the most suitable soil and expressing the character of its vineyards. Its range includes fresh, site-reflective white wines, characterful reds—particularly Burgundian varieties—and traditional-method sparkling wines made with patience and uncompromising attention to the base wines.
