Bodega Numanthia

Spain

Bodega Numanthia is a Toro estate in Castilla y León, founded by the Eguren family in 1998 and owned by LVMH since 2008. It focuses on Tinta de Toro from ancestral, often ungrafted vines, including century-old parcels rooted in sandy, rocky soils and farmed without irrigation. Vineyard work is manual and organic in approach, with no pesticides, alongside broader sustainability efforts including biodiversity protection, solar energy, wastewater recycling, and ISO 14001 certification. The wines aim to express Toro’s extreme climate and historic terroir with intensity, balance, and authenticity. The estate is overseen by Julio Rodríguez Buren, with Jesús Jiménez and Marine Roussel leading the technical and winemaking side.
