Aslina

South Africa

Aslina is an independent boutique winery in South Africa’s Western Cape, founded and owned by Ntsiki Biyela, one of the country’s first Black female winemakers. Biyela remains the sole winemaker, shaping both the style and direction of the label. The range includes five wines, from Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay to Cabernet Sauvignon and the flagship Bordeaux-style blend Umsasane. Aslina works with sustainably farmed vineyards and emphasizes eco-friendly, minimal-intervention winemaking, with practices such as limited oak use, barrel ageing and lees contact. The wines are positioned as small-batch, terroir-driven expressions of the Western Cape.
