Domaine Courbet

France

Domaine Courbet is a family-owned Jura estate founded in 1869 and now run by Jean-Marie Courbet and his son Damien, who took full control of winemaking in 2011. Based in Château-Chalon, the domaine farms certified organic vineyards biodynamically. Its approach is clearly traditional and low-intervention, with short pruning, regular plowing, no chaptalisation, indigenous yeasts, low sulfur additions, and fermentation in concrete. The estate works with Jura’s classic varieties, including Savagnin on marl soils, Chardonnay on clay-limestone, and red grapes such as Poulsard, Trousseau, and Pinot Noir on lighter marne and limestone sites.
