Château Livran

France

Château Livran is a historic Médoc estate in Saint-Germain-d’Esteuil, founded in the late 13th century and owned by Olivier Michon and Edwige Lurton Michon since 2013. The family is revitalizing the vineyards and cellars through a vineyard transformation centered on biodynamic practices, natural treatments, soil life, and respect for natural cycles. Its clay-limestone terroir, limestone outcrops, and maritime climate support plantings of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. The wines are made with an emphasis on terroir expression, including concrete fermentation and gentle French-oak aging. The estate also uses innovative insulation, natural cellar cooling, and a wastewater process that converts vine shoots and winery water into reusable compost. Its team combines experienced vineyard and cellar staff with specialist biodynamic and oenological advisers.
