Cardedu is a family-owned winery in Sardinia, run by the Loi family since the early 1900s, with roots said to reach back to the early 900s. Today it is led by fourth-generation winemaker Sergio Loi. The estate’s vineyards around San Vito and Jerzu sit at about 820 feet on granite and schist soils, with low-trained vines. Cardedu farms certified organic, without chemical inputs, and also dry-farms. In the cellar, the approach is low-intervention and natural, with native yeast fermentations, minimal manipulation, and wines often left unfined and unfiltered, using stainless steel and cement tanks. The focus is on traditional Sardinian varieties including Vermentino, Cannonau, and Monica.
