Château Cru Godard

France

Château Cru Godard is a family-run estate in Bordeaux’s Francs Côtes de Bordeaux, managed by Carine Godard and her husband Franck Richard. The property has been in the Godard family for four generations, with Carine inheriting it in 1998; the couple began estate bottling in 2002. The vineyards, on clay-limestone and fossil-rich limestone soils, have been organically certified since 2010 and are now transitioning to biodynamic farming. Franck Richard oversees the cellar himself, working without an external oenologist and using low-sulfur, no-added-yeast winemaking. The estate’s approach emphasizes respect for nature and hands-on, intuitive winemaking.
