Calstar Cellars is a boutique California winery founded, owned, and operated by Rick Davis, who serves as its sole winemaker and oversees daily operations. Established in 2001, the winery focuses on exclusive, handcrafted, food-friendly wines made from high-quality fruit selected for site-specific character in Northern California vineyards. Davis’s background in soil sciences, cellar work, and Sonoma Coast winemaking informs a particular focus on cool-climate varieties, especially Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, alongside Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Meunier, and Zinfandel. The small, tightly controlled operation reflects Davis’s personal commitment to artisan craft and wines designed to be shared at the table.
