Torraccia del Piantavigna is a family-run estate in Ghemme, Alto Piemonte, founded by Pierino Piantavigna in 1977 and now led by the Francoli family, alongside a partnership with the Ponti family that continues the original legacy. The winery focuses on historic local grapes including Nebbiolo and Vespolina, and is notably one of only two producers able to vinify both Ghemme and Gattinara DOCG for historical reasons. Its directly managed vineyards are farmed with an eco-compatible philosophy, supported by recognized environmental and community practices. In the cellar, the style centers on careful vinification, aging in large oak casks, and long maturation, aiming to preserve the character and bouquet of Alto Piemonte Nebbiolo.
