Stargazer is a boutique producer in Tasmania’s Coal River Valley, centred on the Palisander Vineyard in the Tea Tree subregion. Founded as a label in 2013 and owned since 2016 by winemaker Samantha (Sam) Connew, it is an estate-focused project run with vineyard manager Guy Young; the original vineyard was planted in 2004 by Norm and Jan Gangell. Farming is regenerative and biodiversity-minded, with winter sheep grazing, free-range chickens, beehives and more than 1,000 native species planted since 2020, though no formal certification is noted. The vineyard has expanded over time and today includes varieties such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gamay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. Wines are produced in small-batch, limited releases.
