Santa Tresa

Italy

Santa Tresa is a family-run estate in Vittoria, southeastern Sicily, owned and operated by Stefano and Marina Girelli since 2001. Its certified-organic vineyards are managed with a strong emphasis on biodiversity, soil health and water conservation, including rainwater irrigation, favino green manure, natural pest control and careful canopy management. The estate’s red, sandy soils over limestone and clay provide a distinctive setting for local varieties including Frappato, Nero d’Avola and Grillo, alongside Viognier and a dedicated experimental block preserving rare Sicilian biotypes. With a long connection to Cerasuolo di Vittoria, Santa Tresa combines respect for tradition with ongoing experimentation. The owners’ team uses gentle handling and both oak and steel, with occasional sulphur-free vinifications, to produce authentic wines that express the territory.
