Masseria Li Veli is a historic estate in Salento, Puglia, founded by Marquis Antonio de Viti de Marco and owned by the Falvo family since 1999. The winery focuses on native Apulian varieties, combining traditional vineyard practices—including high-density alberello bush vines and the historic settonce layout—with modern winemaking. Its Progetto Askos researches, selects, and revives endangered local grapes, producing wines from particularly suited sites according to longstanding cultivation traditions. Varieties include Negroamaro, Primitivo, Susumaniello, Malvasia Nera, Fiano, Verdeca, and Aleatico. The estate’s calcareous, clayey, sandy, and tufa-rich soils, together with Puglia’s maritime climate, support wines described as powerful yet elegant, fresh, structured, and aromatic.
