Castello di Meleto is a historic estate in Gaiole in Chianti, at the heart of Chianti Classico, with a wine connection dating to the Benedictine monks and a first written mention in 1256. Its vineyards are estate-owned and focused mainly on Sangiovese and other indigenous varieties, with wines made exclusively from estate-grown grapes. Organic viticulture, low yields, biodiversity projects and detailed vineyard monitoring through Netsens reflect an environmentally attentive approach; the estate is also Equalitas-certified for sustainability. The Cru Project highlights individual sites such as Vigna Trebbio, Vigna Poggiarso and Parabuio, translating differences in soils, altitude, exposure and climate into distinct wines. Owned by Viticola Toscana and operated by the Menicacci family, the estate combines traditional Chianti identity with contemporary vineyard technology and hospitality.
