C.H. Berres is a family-owned Mosel estate run by 21st-generation proprietors Markus Berres and Mat Walter Berres. Founded in 1868, with vineyards cultivated since 1510, the winery farms sites including the steep, manually worked slopes of Ürziger Würzgarten, Goldwingert and Erdener Treppchen. Its viticulture follows sustainable practices, without noted organic or biodynamic certification. Winemaking is led by Markus Berres, a Geisenheim graduate with experience in New Zealand, reflecting a family tradition combined with broader technical experience.
