Bodegas Franco-Españolas is a historic Rioja producer in Logroño, founded in 1890 by Bordeaux-born Frederick Anglade Saurat as a French-Spanish venture during the phylloxera era. Owned by the Eguizábal family since 1984 and now led by third-generation Borja Eguizábal, the winery is known for classic Rioja styles under Bordón and for Diamante, described as Rioja’s pioneering semi-sweet white wine. It has long emphasized white wines, including Viura, Chardonnay and Verdejo, while its reds are made in a traditional Rioja style. Notes also mention limited editions and an environmental, social and economic sustainability program that includes solar energy, energy saving and social initiatives.
