Baron de Badassière is a small-scale Languedoc label produced exclusively for Liberty Wines at the Cave de Pomerols cooperative. Its grapes come from selected Picpoul de Pinet vineyards around the Étang de Thau, planted on clay-limestone soils in a warm, sunny climate moderated by coastal breezes. Led by winemaker Marguerite Vasseur with consultant Matt Thomson, the wines follow a non-interventionist approach: minimal skin contact, no malolactic fermentation and no oak, preserving freshness, purity and varietal character. Grapes are harvested mechanically and by hand. Production is modest and weather-sensitive, with significant reductions in some vintages. Current ownership is not specified.
