Altocedro is a family-owned, small-scale artisanal winery in La Consulta, Uco Valley, Mendoza, founded by Mario Mussi and now run by his son Karim Mussi, proprietor and winemaker. At around 1,100 metres, it focuses on high-altitude, terroir-driven wines from old vines, including plantings up to 100 years old. Sustainable practices include careful canopy management, attention to vine health and minimal intervention, without stated formal certification. Karim Mussi’s approach emphasizes pure fruit, original old-vine rootstocks and distinctive terroir expressions. Wines are made in limited quantities, with fermentation in concrete vats or French oak barrels, reflecting a commitment to varietal character, tradition and innovation.
