Family-run Domaine Vuillemez is based in the village of Chardonnay in Burgundy, where Claude and Patricia Vuillemez founded the estate in 1989. Now operated by their son Valentin and nephew Paul, the domaine draws on the family’s watchmaking heritage, applying rigor, patience and respect for time to its wines. Its vineyards are farmed according to organic principles, with BIO certification in progress, and are planted to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Precise, patient vinification takes place in stainless steel, oak or concrete eggs, with selected wines made in clay eggs to promote balance and aromatic purity. Working with vigneron Florent Barday and oenologist Christian Vessaz, the domaine produces terroir-focused “Les Vins Horlogers” wines rooted in the Mâconnais style.
