Vasse Felix is the founding wine estate of Margaret River, established in 1967 by Dr. Tom Cullity. Since 1987, it has been family-owned by the Holmes à Court family, with Paul Holmes à Court as proprietor and CEO. The estate operates at a significant scale, with about 340 hectares of vineyards across four sites and an annual production of roughly 1.4 to 1.8 million bottles (120,000–150,000 cases). Chief Winemaker Virginia Willcock, in her role since 2006, champions a minimal-intervention, low-intervention philosophy, utilizing 100% wild-yeast fermentations. Sustainability is a core commitment, evidenced by certification from Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, a holistic focus on soil health and biodiversity, and adherence to a long-term 'Great Wines, Forever' charter. While a large, pioneering producer, its operations are guided by a dedicated family ownership and a clear focus on regional expression through sustainable practices.
