Neethlingshof is a historic Stellenbosch estate in the Western Cape, with roots variously noted from 1692 and a long winemaking heritage. Since 2021–2022 it has been owned by Les Grands Chais de France, after earlier family and German ownership. Sustainability is central to the estate’s identity: it is a WWF Conservation Champion and runs biodiversity programmes including spotted eagle-owl reintroduction, alongside rational water use, natural pest control, composting, cover crops, canopy management and reduced chemical inputs. Its wines are vegan-certified, with slow grape ripening and a focus on vibrant natural flavour, balance, varietal purity and site expression. The range includes Estate wines, the story-led Short Story Collection, single-vineyard bottlings, and traditional-method Cap Classique.
