Isole e Olena is a historic estate in Tuscany's Chianti Classico region, founded in 1956 by the De Marchi family. Now owned by the French EPI Group, it remains under the guidance of Paolo De Marchi, known as 'Mr Sangiovese,' who has led winemaking since 1976. The estate farms 56 hectares of vineyards with an artisanal, low-intervention approach, emphasizing hand-tied vines, biodiversity, and the restoration of traditional terraces to combat erosion. While producing around 240,000 bottles annually, its philosophy centers on deep knowledge of the land, respect for nature, and expressing the unique terroir of San Donato in Poggio.
