Famille Fabre is a historic family-owned producer in Languedoc-Roussillon, with the Fabre family farming there since 1605 and now in its fourteenth generation. The family works across five châteaux on distinct terroirs, with vineyards rooted in some of the region’s poorest soils. A pioneer of sustainability in the Languedoc, the estate began converting to organic farming in 1991 under Louis Fabre, who remains the principal winemaker. Farming is certified organic and supported by biodiversity measures including cover crops, double hedges, agroforestry, and bio-protection, with HVE Level 3 certification. The family also cultivates fruit trees and hops on marginal land, reflecting a broader ecological approach.
