Domaine Philippe Gilbert

France

Domaine Philippe Gilbert is a family-owned estate in Menetou-Salon, in France’s Loire Valley, with a winemaking history dating to 1768. Philippe Gilbert farms clay-limestone Kimmeridgian soils planted to sauvignon and pinot noir, using certified organic and biodynamic methods since the mid-2000s and Biodyvin certification since 2007. The domaine emphasizes artisanal, hands-on work and respect for living soils and vines. In the cellar, spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks, low sulfur additions and restrained intervention aim to preserve the terroir’s pronounced minerality. Its fresh, elegant wines are made in both white and red styles, with a focus on precision, complexity and freshness.
