Domaine de la Roseraie is a privately owned boutique estate in Nolay, Burgundy, founded in 2012 by Julien Petitjean, who also makes the wines. A former historian and musicologist, Petitjean farms according to biodynamic principles, with cover crops, biodiversity, lightweight equipment, and minimal soil disturbance to protect microbial life. In the cellar, the approach is highly artisanal and minimal-intervention: natural fermentation, hand-bottling, no fining, no filtration, and no added sulfites. Drawing on medieval techniques, the domaine uses a 15th-century-style cellar, and Chardonnay sees long oak ageing. The wines reflect a clear focus on terroir, sustainability, and hands-on craftsmanship.
