Domaine Boris Champy

France

Domaine Boris Champy is a biodynamic Burgundy estate in Nantoux, in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, founded in 1984 by Didier Montchovet and taken over by Boris Champy in 2019. A pioneer of biodynamic farming in the area, the domaine works organically and biodynamically, with vineyards managed as biodiversity islands alongside hedges, orchards, limestone grasslands and sheep grazing. Its agroecological approach includes green manures, minimal soil tillage and careful attention to natural cycles. Boris Champy, an oenologist with experience at Dominus, Louis Latour and Clos des Lambrays, focuses on revealing individual plots and their altitude, soils and microclimates. Winemaking is precise and minimally interventionist, using indigenous yeasts, careful sorting, whole-cluster fermentation where appropriate, gentle extraction, little new oak and minimal sulphur. The wines aim to express terroir with freshness, balance and ageing potential.
