Château Sansonnet is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé in Bordeaux, owned by the Lefevère family since 2009, with Marie-Bénédicte Lefévère leading the estate. Located on the northeast of Saint-Émilion on a single block of clay-limestone soils over limestone, it is planted mainly to Merlot, with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard has been under a long-term improvement plan for more than a decade, with hand harvesting, soil work, no herbicides, reasoned use of phytosanitary products, and cover crops to support biodiversity. The estate is engaged in the SME approach and certified HVE3. Recent cellar renovations and parcel-by-parcel vinification support a structured yet refined house style, with consulting input from Michel Rolland’s team and Jean-Philippe Fort.
