Chateau Leoville Barton

France

Château Léoville Barton is a long-established family estate in Saint-Julien, with Barton roots in Bordeaux dating to 1722 and the property in family hands since 1826, now led by the 10th generation. Classified as a Second Grand Cru Classé in 1855, it is rooted in Garonne gravel slopes facing the Gironde, with clay-gravel soils that help moderate vintage variation. The estate combines traditional Médoc methods with a strong environmental focus: traditional ploughing, no weedkillers or herbicides, manual harvests, and increasing organic cultivation alongside HVE3-certified sustainable practices. Its wines are defined by the family’s emphasis on elegance, consistency, and classic winemaking.
