Château Fonréaud is a family-owned Chanfreau estate in Bordeaux’s Médoc, founded in 1962 by winemaker Léo Chanfreau and now run by Jean, Marie-Hélène, Caroline Chanfreau-Philippon, and the next generation, Guillaume and Loïc Chanfreau, who also lead the winemaking. Based in Listrac-Médoc, the estate also produces white wine at Le Cygne. Its approach centers on sustainable viticulture, including the Cousinié Method, natural grass cover, ploughing between rows, and disease protection guided by HVE principles. Château Fonréaud is certified Terra Vitis and HVE 3, reflecting a careful, quality-focused approach in both vineyard and cellar.
