Château Bonalgue

France

Château Bonalgue is a Bourotte family-owned estate in Pomerol on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, held by the family since 1926. Its vineyard is planted predominantly to Merlot, with some Cabernet Franc, and the wines reflect the classic Pomerol blend. The estate follows eco-friendly integrated farming, including mechanical soil work without chemicals, manual leaf-trimming, and hand harvesting, although it has no formal sustainability certification. Winemaking is overseen by Jean-Baptiste Bourotte, with consulting input from Michel Rolland’s team. The family also owns Clos du Clocher, other Right-Bank vineyards, and a négociant company.
