Champteloup is based in Corcoué-sur-Logne in Loire-Atlantique, within the Muscadet area, where its vineyards lie on gravelly, clay-limestone soils. The estate covers approximately 80 hectares, with around 45 hectares managed under the innovative, eco-responsible V.I.E. model. Champteloup is owned and operated by Les Grands Chais de France, the French wine group founded by Joseph Helfrich in 1979. Producing roughly 5,000 hectolitres annually, it is a substantial group-owned operation rather than a small independent domaine; no winemaker is named, and no sustainability certifications are specified.
